cubes work fine. We use them in our Harry Potter bathroom to store rolled up towels and washcloths. They work as intended and feel solid. I have to say I was very disappointed to find that only one die had a colored crest. The other is completely black and barely visible. I'm just wondering what's the point of making everything black if you can't see it. Anyway, it's my fault for not paying attention. The photos clearly show what you get. This is a great product; It was just kind of disappointing to see the dark one. I bought several packs of these so the crest wasn't a big deal. I just arranged them on the shelf to make it look intentional.
