My job requires you to ALWAYS perform a brake pad measurement during a PAL inspection, this is important to determine the weather or not, i'm doing my job but also allows you to visually show the customer what 2mil pads are and why it's time for brake work. so now it is necessary. Obviously works better with pads than shoes, 3mm on shoes can be considered the norm. and very few cars I work on have +8mm pads. So the color guide mainly applies to pads.
- Red means = Needs Service, Yellow means = Needs Service and Green means = Good
