I can't stand the heat in the oven!

Used for the first time in a very hot oven (500 degrees), the glass is cloudy and difficult to read. Don't buy it! I don't understand why no one else makes a basic, high quality, hand readable thermometer. I had an old 30 year old before the glass cracked. Please email me if you find any good non-digital meat label model!
