They should tell you that G Syetnc and Free Sync will only work if you are using Display Port. They will NOT work when connected via USB Thunderbolt. I bought this as a 1 cable solution as it supports full silence at 144Hz over Thunderbolt plus 96W of power. This part is great, but if you also want to take advantage of FREE SYNC/G-SYNC, you'll need to connect using a Display Port 1.4 cable. It kind of defeats the purpose of advertising full 96W of power and 144Hz in one cable plus free G-Sync and you can't use the monitor's full potential, sort of misleading advertising! I can return it and go back to the cheaper model as I basically switched to it to use a fully charged single cable solution with a 144Hz Mac Book Pro Plus 16" and Free Sync.
