They should tell you that G Syetnc and Free Sync will only work if you are using Display Port. They will NOT work when connected via USB Thunderbolt. I bought this as a 1 cable solution as it supports full silence at 144Hz over Thunderbolt plus 96W of power. This part is great, but if you also want to take advantage of FREE SYNC/G-SYNC, you'll need to connect using a Display Port 1.4 cable. In general, I like the monitor. Pros: The high resolution allows me to open many things at the same time. Multiple computers can connect at the same time. The built-in speakers are good, but I don't use them. True 10-bit color! and connects to my Mac! Disadvantages: does not automatically select the input. I can't adjust the contrast on Mac (It's a Mac setting but I wish the monitor would allow me to override it.) That's it, I'm so glad I chose this monitor.

They sent me two broken monitors, the second one isn't as bad but just as broken. The former doesn't show the full image at all when using Displayport 1.4, it shows on Displayport 1.2 but only at 75Hz or lower. In version 1.4 at all settings and 1.2 at 120 or 144 Hz, the right side of the screen was a mix of colored vertical and horizontal lines moving continuously from top to bottom. Probably the best monitor money can buy but the one I received was broken. LG wraps this in thin foam and it's a $1,700 monitor. Some things to watch out for: if you want to use 10 bits you should stick with 120Hz, if you switch to 244Hz you'll only get a maximum of 8 bits. LG has quality issues. This is the second monitor I have bought from them in the last 7 years and both have failed. Is it expensive. The beautiful display and Thunderbolt capabilities are useful for charging/data transfer. I'm not sorry as my use case is mostly multitasking and content editing, but it may not be for everyone. The calibration isn't intuitive, but can be examined and adjusted after some research.

I've been using dual monitors for years and finally switched to this ultrawide. It was great, the picture quality was great and I feel like it's a lot better.
