Review on Solar-Powered Auto Darkening Professional Welding Helmet W/Wide Lens & Adjustable Shade - DEKOPRO by Kenneth Cotton

Great welding hood for a fair price

I was concerned about the claims being made by this welding hood when I first looked at it for the price of $75-$80 range. I wanted something that would protect my eyes without breaking the bank. I wanted all the features this helmet claimed to have with the price tag it had as well.Fit and finish - feels solid but pliable. Good for if/when I drop the helmet on the concrete floor. Make sure to take off the green tinted inside and outside film off of the lens when you get it, this requires you to take out the lens unit itself. Paint and design are all in line and look nice. Simple design design but I like minimalistic. Helmet was easy to put together. Others on here have complained about breaking the plastic pieces to fit the headgear onto the helmet. I didn’t find that the case. I took my time and didn’t force anything. There could have been directions, that would have made it a lot easier.Performance - The helmet performs as advertised. Since this is my first welding hood I don’t have anything to compare it to but I am very happy with the helmet thus far. I have used this helmet for approx. 40-50 hours for mostly welding with a little grinding in between. I find it a little uncomfortable when used for long periods of time (1-1.5 hours at a time) but other than that I find this unit solid. I would def recommend to anyone including friends and family .
