First off, let me say this blender is a great blender if you're just blending liquids and powders in liquids (e.g. protein shakes). I was looking for a handy blender for my smoothie I was working on. I started a phase where I enjoyed making frozen fruit smoothies, which I froze and mixed with coconut milk. I saw this blender and thought "All my problems are solved." Easy to use with everything that is included and the blender turns into a travel bottle. What do not like. So one day after a few uses, I started making myself a peanut butter and banana smoothie. (Let me add that this blender has a little trouble when you add anything other than liquid to it.) So after a few minutes I finally got the smoothie liquid enough to blend. I put the lid on, gathered my work gear and headed for the door. I put the smoothies in the cup holder on the center console. Then I left the house and went to work. Somehow when I drove about 15 minutes the bottle somehow managed to tip on its side. By the time I realized the bottle had fallen and the cap was chipping off, most of the contents had already spilled onto the carpet next to my center console. I stopped immediately and started cleaning up the mess, but it was too late. The smoothie (because it was so runny) seeped into the carpet and upholstery of my truck. I cleaned up as much as I could, but it wasn't enough. After a 12 hour shift, I went home to clean up the mess. During the summer in Texas, I opened the truck door and smelled rancid. I knew there was a treat waiting for me on the way home. After a 30 minute drive with the windows down and a nearly gagged truck, I made it to the driveway. I started to clean up the mess but found that the smoothie had already taken on a gelatinous consistency. I proceeded by removing the driver's seat to get under and clean it. Long story short, after nearly three hours of disassembling the cabin (center console, driver's seat, carpet, etc.) I finally managed to get most of the smoothie out of the carpet, but I sacrificed a good smoothie and some carpet. The smell is still in the air after being doused with Fabreeze and several car bombs. I love the ease of use of this blender but I do not recommend these lids as they are easy to open accidentally. The motor isn't powerful enough to blend an actual smoothie either, unless you like it thick as water. If you definitely don't plan on making smoothies, this is for you. Also, I think I'll use a larger Vitamix blender.
