Exactly what I needed. I don't like having a separate dispenser, so wooden dowels didn't interest me. It fits perfectly in my honey jar that I bought at the local farmer's market. My only issue is that the stick is not one piece with the lid. I don't understand why (easy to do) but the rod sometimes unscrews and is sticky when tightened. That being said, this doesn't happen very often, and I'm sure it's easier to clean if I can unscrew it when my jar is empty. Nonetheless. These honey balls are better than using a spoon! :)
