Works well. Humidity is kept at 68-69%, but I usually keep 2 packs of Boeveda in my humidor as well. After filling with 100% distilled water I noticed that the crystals on the outside of the packaging had puffed up and lifted the top of the vent. You may want to fill about 1/8 to 1/4 of the crystals kept in reserve first and add a little after the first fill if needed. But keep in a safe place, if it's silica you don't want animals or children ingesting it. From what I've read there is a choking hazard, but you should contact the Poison Control Center or your vet if swallowed.
