I have had this block for 5 months now and it is serving me well. The block is large enough for 2 people to work together, carving a whole duck or adding all the ingredients to a dish. Also perfect to carry outside to instantly create a large work surface for outdoor cooking. The block never scratches due to the nature of the end-grain fibers, which also indicates that the knives don't dull as quickly as with other blocks. It keeps very clean even with just a little water. The block absorbs wood oil and warps easily if left unattended. To avoid cracking, use both Boos Mystery Oil every (other) week and Boos Cream Conditioner every month. This is especially important during the first week when the Mystery Oil needs to be applied daily. Price.
