I just unboxed this stand and I have to say it will definitely support a 17 inch laptop with no problem. Expect it to be able to handle the heaviest laptops. I don't want to think it will be flimsy and easy to tune as that defeats its purpose and potentially becomes extremely annoying. That. As for moving from place to place, why fold, just move to where it's set up. No problem I can see anytime in the future. As for the negative reviews I cannot agree with them as my personal opinion is that people should learn to accept what is including the difficult adjustment as this is a very SMALL issue not in a negative tone should be mentioned. Are people so weak that they CANNOT adjust this stand? If this is the case, take an undamaged pry bar and mount it where you want to adjust it to your needs. Use your imagination to figure out what to use. I would definitely buy this stand again if I lose it or it gets stolen.
