I like these and like them I don't need a separate lid like the ball, but there is no information. There are no details on how to properly seal them using the bain marie canning method. I followed the same process as Ball, but a few hours after taking the cans out I found I could tighten the lids by hand even if they were tight to begin with. I hear a sound like air escaping from a can. seal or not? Should I repeat or not? Shouldn't I try to tighten it further by hand? I've found that the lids on the ball are always loose after canning and you have to tighten them even more by hand. So I have no idea if my food that I have used with these jars is safe. It would be helpful if someone else could comment on this.
