I just got this lens for $8990 not too long ago. There were 2 in the shop. The first one that they presented provided sharp focus in the back. And the second one turned out to be just right; there is an adjustment available on the 6D, but you won't find yourself using it. Hits with pinpoint accuracy from all ranges and with the face open. In the past, I owned an older model of this lens that had a mount made of plastic. The contrast is as great as heaven and earth! If the accidental hitting of the focus on the older model was entirely unintentional, then the STM mechanism in the newer model should work perfectly for focusing. Because the lens has not undergone any changes to its optical design, all of the information regarding the previous model's capabilities in this respect is applicable to this lens as well. When the exposure value is set to open or very close to open, there is no sharpness at the edges of the complete frame. However, this is not a disadvantage because, when shooting at wide edges, the subject is typically somewhere near the center of the frame and the background is typically bokeh. Every person who has a DSLR camera with a full-frame sensor should seriously consider purchasing this lens. On a crop sensor, the 40mm f/2.8 STM lens is superior.
