HOW TO CHECK BIRD AUDIO ON YOUR WATCH

No battery covers? Not 5 stars. (That was easy.) To test your watch for bird calls: Insert three batteries. Expose the watch to direct sunlight. Slowly turn the time to the top of the hour and listen to the bird call. Some chirp twice, some three times. In direct sunlight, keep turning the clock until you reach the end of the next hour. Hear the bird call. Repeat this until you reach the end of the next hour and hear a bird call. The clock has a light sensor just above "12". When the light is dim, the call is very quiet. In bright sunlight (or other bright light), the call should be loud, attention-grabbing, and pleasant. If you hear a loud and pleasant noise in the sun, but not in the house, either move the clock to a brighter place or add a light near the clock. Many returns and some lower ratings could have been avoided if this trick had been tried first. I am not saying that some watches are not made of pewter. They could be made in different countries. But a sunlight test will give you a good idea of whether or not you should return them. Happy chirping! (I am in no way affiliated with Audobon or the manufacturer. I just love this 8 inch clock.)
