That expensive bag of food can become very, very expensive if you give it to your puppy without knowing for sure if he is allergic to anything. In just one week my 11 month old beagle has had to be hospitalized 4 times (>$1000) with allergic reactions to this food because it contains too many different types of proteins. Most puppy foods are simpler combinations like chicken and rice. Also, he didn't even like the taste and would eat literally anything - he's a beagle, after all. I'm sure adult food is fine if you know what your dog is also allergic to, but it's an incredibly expensive risk for puppies, not to mention very uncomfortable for your furry little one.
