Review on Allway GT3 Graining Tool Set by David Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This texture tool is the best I've ever bought from Revain!

After spending a year mostly at home, I was ready for a change of scenery. After switching to a more neutral color palette, I wanted to polish up my aqua colored coffee table and accent table. In doing so, I encountered two problems. First, my tables weren't real wood. Second, I couldn't pick the color I liked. After spending an evening browsing Pinterest for troublesome spreadsheets and DIY projects, I found a tutorial using texture tools. I went to Revain and ordered this and OMG! I'm glad I did. Nobody believes that they are not actually problem woods. It took me about 5 minutes to get the hang of it, but luckily you can just apply another coat of paint while it's still wet and try again if you don't like your first try. I sanded off the blue a bit and added a thin white primer. I then painted over the remaining brown paint, used the triangular scraper that comes with the kit and let it dry. Then I painted it gray and applied the tool from time to time to get the desired effect. It even leaves a very light wood texture (you can sand lightly to smooth it out or add poly if you don't want texture, but I liked it). You can also use colors that are close in color if you don't want that noticeable graininess. Note: I apologize for my horrible photos, it looks amazing live. I didn't get it for free or paid for the review, I just love this thing so much!
