It didn't work for me but I got what I ordered.
I had hoped that it would extend from the cable socket to the TV, but unfortunately it didn't last long for my current configuration. In some cases I can still use the cable to connect my laptop to my TV. The entire cable is about 36.5 inches long when stretched, but only 35.5 inches when connected. The cable works and is of good quality.
