My RV has a detachable power cord. When I bought it I asked for an adapter so I could use the standard 15A cable for charging etc. I was given an adapter to go from the 30Amp RV plug on the end of the RV cord to a 15A outlet means I have to use the bulky 25" RV cord all the time. This adapter is exactly what I wanted. This allows me to plug the adapter directly into a port on the van and use a standard 15A (12 gauge) extension cord to connect it. As a bonus, a small light on the adapter lets me know the line is on.
