This metal jewelry loupe is solidly built, packed in a nice carrying case, with added neck strap, easy-to-read instructions and lens cleaning cloth. I particularly like the bright white LEDs I use to check the cutting edges of the tools I'm sharpening. The enlarged image is clear enough for my purposes. I cannot determine the composition of the lens material. The 40x magnifier has a narrow field of view and shallow focus, and the LEDs are positioned at the right angle to illuminate the dead spot of the magnified image. There's also a UV LED for checking gems and currency, but I'm not familiar with the detailed features, required for such purposes. The slide switch is pleasantly "fast”. "
