Well we tried and tried. We had it on the floor, we had it on the couch. I used her favorite toys to pace, I tasted treats. She was afraid of him, because even when he was lying on the floor, she did not approach the sofa. I was very patient and encouraged, but she didn't buy it. I tried for many weeks. It's now unused in a drawer under the closet. It's very well made and I'm sure it'll be great for some dogs but not mine. Since she is partially paralyzed I was hoping that this would allow her to stand on the couch as she can't jump on anything. She loves the couch, but not that much I think. Sorry, that's not the manufacturer's fault, it just didn't suit us.
