Our back door light fixture on our garage needed replacement, and this was our SECOND attempt.The install went off without a hitch. The round base fit perfectly with the round gang box and the base plate had the appropriate mounts for the bolts. After that, it was just a matter of wires. One of the bolts didn't tighten up flush, but that may be my fault (since I did the install in sub-freezing temps and was probably rushing).The light cage has two layers: a narrow glass jar around the bulb itself and a metal grid around the jar. They both just screw on and off to keep things simple. These provide excellent protection against moisture and impacts, HOWEVER, the glass jar is narrow. This means that standard-size light bulb won't fit it. The jar is optional, so you CAN use that type of bulb, it just won't have the same protection. We chose to purchase a narrow T14 bulb from the local DIY store and it fit perfectly.I nearly took a star off for this limitation, but the fixture really works well. Just be aware of the bulb size and you'll be pleased.
