Conclusion: Only buy these lamps if you test them extensively before installing them and then are skeptical about them. I bought 3 of these lights and really took the time to wire them up. to make sure they work before installing. My rig was over 30 feet off the ground and I didn't want to have any height issues. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. When I finished installing the last 40 feet of light it didn't work. I checked the circuit and it worked fine. Then I found that it works intermittently when I wiggle the cord to the plug. I also found that about 1 in 5 lightbulbs didn't light up. I knew there must be a short in the plug and found that the bulbs were not fully screwed in. Luckily each of them turned on when I screwed them tight. However, this meant going down the entire chain, which was already suspended. I realize it was stupid of me not to check the bulb for leaks, but then again all the lights worked when they were on the floor. More Than You Want to Know: I was able to look inside the connector through the fuse access and see that the positive wire that should have been crimped into the positive terminal of the connector is simply attached to that positive terminal. There were only a few bare wires, suggesting that someone or something had ever assembled this, accidentally cut the wire instead of stripping the wire, and never bothered to crimp that wire in place. That's why the light only worked when there was no voltage on the cord, and that's why they stopped working when they hung up. I contacted the warranty service who responded very quickly with a very general request for a transaction number. (which I have already given them) and for the photos and documentation of what happened. I answered them and once again explained to them exactly what had happened. That I had to manually insert the wire into the connector at a certain angle for these lights to work. They said they wouldn't replace the bulbs until I showed them detailed pictures of exactly what was going on inside their plug. To accommodate their request, I sent them photos of the plug connected, the circuit working, and the lights not working. I explained to them that it would require several separate up and down flights of stairs to return their flashlight with no spare on hand and that would deprive them of the time frame they would need to verify my return and delivery , making it extremely impractical. I need a new set of headlights. 5 days after my first contact the warranty service replied that they would send a replacement BUT the replacement would have to be made in China and it would take 35 business days! I explained that I received these headlights two days after ordering from Revain and that there must be a better option. The only other option they offered me was an immediate $20 refund for this faulty $41 purchase! To be honest these lights look great once installed and the packaging they came in was well insulated and the lights came with extra bulbs. I am VERY VERY concerned that I (and others) will have failures with these lamp connectors either now or in the future given this quality control issue. Additionally, no one should spend so much time, effort, troubleshooting, and tracking just to hang a string of lights. The company's role should be, first, to ensure that its product has been assembled correctly, and second, to ensure that its verified customers are satisfied. Your refusal to ship me a replacement in a timely manner (wait 35 business days from China!) or offer me an immediate full refund cannot be justified. Your offer for less than 1/2 the purchase price 5 days after purchasing the defective item is FUNNY and offensive! The bottom line is that there are several companies that sell these headlights, most of which offer these headlights at an equal or better price. and with fewer quality problems. That face of the bulbs not screwing properly into the circuit is an easy fix, and I only mentioned it so others know to check each bulb before hanging it. However, a defect in the installation of the cable in the connector is not so easy to fix. I would be VERY hesitant to purchase these lights knowing that failure of these lights can occur upon delivery or at any time in the future and their warranty service is less than adequate or easy to deal with. Update: Given that the company hasn't sent me a replacement for at least 35 business days, I contacted Revain. Revan was incredible. They apologized for the inconvenience and offered to refund the money. At the same time, in response to the negative review I had left, the company emailed me (in broken English) to say that they would no longer send me a replacement! I am very grateful that Revane reached out. Would really avoid this seller!
