That's my fault I thought, but I expected to be able to put this compass on a watch strap. Not correct! It only works with the cheap velcro strap that comes with the compass. It's a $25 compass that comes with 5-cent tape that you can clip to your wrist. Who came up with this stupid approach? SUUNTO is known for manufacturing high quality compasses. I own several. But their design team working on their wrist compasses should be fired. Serious. First I bought their Clipper Compass which fits on a watch strap. He approached, but carrying it was uncomfortable because of the protrusion on the back. No big deal, the compass itself fell out of its mount after a few days so I threw the mount away. The problem is solved. So I ordered M9. More money, but it also looked like a better compass. The small bearing window is a useful feature and the compass is easy to read. Yes, this compass is almost the size of my face, but I expected the size to be listed in the product description. I was willing to settle for a larger size in exchange for a reliable quality compass. my wrist. But no, the M9's compass bezel is BIG and the mount is incredibly small. The strap hole is less than 1mm. It's big enough for the Velcro strap that comes with the M9, but it doesn't even come close to my usual 2mm watch strap. I tried and tried to fit it into the slot in the little slot on the side of the compass but it didn't work. I can't even force it. It's plastic, if I press harder it's bound to break. So what about SUUNTO? Are they completely brainless? Do they have engineers designing these tools but not using them? It will be inconvenient to return, but I see no other way out. Does anyone know of a company that makes a quality compass that actually fits on a watch strap? This is definitely not SUUNTO!
