Review on πŸ”‹ Durable Duracell Procell 9V Batteries - Pack of 12, with Varying Packaging Options by Sandy Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Procell, Schmo-cell.

The Duracell Procell has the same capacity as the Duracell 9V battery, so don't let the name fool you. Procell represents an industrial or professional force, but actually it is not. The only difference is the lack of retail packaging and how they mark the product (appearance). Battery life (without use) depends on the material it is made of and depends on the storage conditions. Ultra (AA/AAA) = 10 years. CopperTop (AA/AAA/C/D) = 10 years. Copper tip (9v) = 5 years. Lithium coin = 10 years. Alkaline (hearing aid) = 4 years. Batteries = 3 years. .Procells belong to the Coppertop group (ie shelf life 10 years). So if the current delivery is in 2021, the batteries were produced in 2011. So what is correct? Well, I've stood idle for more than half of my resources, which means we should expect some battery degradation once received. The worst case scenario is a full blown leak. Knowing the storage conditions may be more important than the expiration date of the batch/batch currently being shipped. But you need answers to both questions to get a good idea of whether it's a good buy or not. The stated expiry year is based on the date of manufacture and is between 3 and 10 years depending on the battery type. The retail price for 9 volt batteries is $2 to $3 each. They sell for less than $2 each in clubs, and as little as $1.50 each during clearance sales. Here on this site when I made the purchase they were $1.3 each. Whether it's a good buy or not is subjective. The batch I bought was 2021 which means they were made in 2016. But I also needed them as a last resort since all my smoke alarms were beeping in time with the annoying chorus. The fact that most of my purchases are used immediately made it a great purchase. If I don't need them right away or my local club always had fresh supplies, it can be worth paying an extra 20-45 cents a piece for the extra durability. I'm giving this 5 stars because of the 'freshness' of the lot which actually reflects the seller's turnover rate.
