Purchased for Oyster Fest church fundraiser. Even though I have regular Oyster (Shakers) knives, I liked the sheath so I wouldn't lose it in a crowd of 200+ people. However, the knife itself was the winner. It is not only beautiful, but also excellently made - and I love/know good knives. 3800 oysters were cooked overnight and I think I ate half of them. Seriously, I dropped a bunch and this knife worked hard. I was suspicious of the fact that judging by the price it might not stand up to a tough night's work, but at the end of the night it was just as tight. The full smell was God's gift, it protected my hands when I tried to open the unruly ones and made it as easy as possible for me to open it, you could really squeeze it a little. Here is the final testimony of this little beauty: Before opening an oyster, I missed the sheath when I holstered the knife and it fell to the concrete floor. My heart has been broken; I despise scratches and dents. To my surprise, I couldn't and can't find a single drop mark on the knife - I don't know which end it hit, but the blade isn't dented, the wooden handle isn't chipped, etc. The metal part is scratched. It should be made of fairly hard materials. I believe it's for life! Great product at a great price.
