Review on 🔌 High-Quality Rankie DP to DVI Adapter – Reliable Gold Plated DisplayPort to DVI Male to Female Converter (Black) by Stephen Johnson

I chose this adapter over the DisplayPort to VGA adapter because other reviews have noted that it has DVI analog compatible connectors. I decided to use it with a DVI to VGA adapter to connect an old VGA LCD I had laying around and later I was able to use the same adapter with a DVI monitor. There is no such happiness. The monitor immediately went into sleep mode even though it was recognized in the device manager. Tried other DisplayPort connectors, other DVI-VGA adapters, and troubleshooting with the main HDMI screen off, to no avail. I hooked up a VGA screen to an old laptop and verified that it was working properly. So it's just a compatibility issue that I can't use a VGA monitor with this adapter, at least in my system with ASRock Z730 Pro4-IB motherboard and MSI 1070 GTX Aero 8G graphics card. I am returning it and have already ordered a DP to VGA adapter. I think for $8 each I should have just ordered both.
