I bought these connectors even though the only review was one star. I visited the Platinum Tools website and watched their tutorial videos. The products proved to be well thought out and I had hoped that the 2017 connectors would not have the issues noted in 2014. Unfortunately this did not happen. The main problem is that the plastic tubes or tunnels that each conductor runs through do not have solid plastic walls. In fact, there is a gap between each conductor tunnel. When you insert a two-piece assembly into a connector, I believe the cables will bend under the stress caused by the insertion of the two-piece assembly, resulting in shorts, missing conductors, and just an overall failure to make a proper connection. Out of 5 cables I only made 1 that seemed to be successful. I applied pressure to both ends of the cable while each end was connected to my cable tester. I submitted the same review to Platinum Tools. I will also say that Platinum Tools offers an EZ connector and crimping tool. an offer that looked interesting. I chose not to go down this route as it requires significantly more than I was willing to invest and you need to pull exposed flush cut conductors in a bit before crimping in POE applications. However, the system looks like it will take a lot of time if you're making a lot of connections compared to keystone jacks.
