Clearly whoever designed the original spiked collar had incredible hand strength. It is almost impossible for a petite woman to squeeze these pins to put on or take off the collar or to adjust the size of the collar. I was so excited to find this model with an easy on and off clip and it does exactly what you would expect it to. My dog would pull and choke on his normal collar, but he walks fine without stabbing himself or injuring himself (she's a screamer and a big wimp so I'm sure it won't hurt her, it only gives her one tactile response how far it can go). It's absolutely perfect. Great collar. Rescuer. I will use this collar forever, if it doesn't break I will get another one. Black is perfect too.
