Pillows are very individual, just like people. Sometimes I sleep on my side, sometimes on my back, and most of the time both. My neck hurts easily when the pillow is too high or too hard, and when it's too soft I don't feel any support. This pillow is perfect for all my properties. It's soft and since it's not filled with crushed foam, it's flexible for my different sleeping patterns. While lying on my back, I gently press my head into the foam until my neck is in a gently supporting position. When lying on my side, I push some foam aside until I reach a comfortable position. Excellent. As for some mentions of smells, this is not my experience at all. I immediately put mine in the dryer for 20 minutes to whip all the lather but no smell. My wife is very sensitive to smells and confirms that she didn't smell anything. Seems to be very well made and I really like that the whole pillow is washable. This pillow certainly isn't for everyone, especially for those who want firmness, but as the general reviews say, it will be 70% or more perfect.
