It took me 5 minutes to put the window on and I didn't even try to use the sealant I bought to close it. We live in a very safe area so we're not concerned about safety and very little air leaks from the edges. It gets moderately cold here in winter (20 degrees at night and 40 degrees during the day) and I didn't feel the cold air approaching the cat flap. The cats love it. Inside, I placed a table with a rubberized mat by the low window and also cut out a strip of rubber mat to protect the finished wooden window sill. I used the command stickers to keep them in place. In front of the porch window, I set up a small outdoor end table with a small bath rug to give the kittens a comfortable platform on the glass table. Great solution as an alternative to cutting holes in your doors!
