Review on Klipsch RP-450C Walnut Center Channel Speaker with Enhanced SEO by Selena Ananth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We are finally exhibiting the Klipsch RC3.

I've been a long time fan of Klipsch speakers. In the late 90's I stumbled across a brand new pair of KLF20 floorstanding speakers for a ridiculously cheap price. I bought them not knowing that I would be actively involved in HT. I later bought a used RC3 from GoodGuys (remember!) and found I had to buy a C7 which usually comes with KLF series turrets. Okay, I just used my RC3 for a long time. This has served me well, but I always thought the towers would just swallow up the small central canal. I really wanted the RC64ii, but ended up using this rather expensive speaker myself (sounds great by the way!). I then bought a Sony HW30AES Pj, 100" SI screen and HSU VTF15H Mk2 subwoofer and used Sony/Advent bookshelf speakers for surround sound. It was working really well until my wife bought me this new center channel speaker for my birthday! I quickly hooked up the RP450C without running Audyssey and noticed a difference in clarity, mids/bass and general stage presence that increased fit my towers. .After launching Audyssey Boy, that center channel really worked! I watched the movie Prometheus and noticed things in the movie coming out of the center channel that I had never really noticed! For example the part where Fifield returns as a monster and starts killing people with his bare hands, there is a part where his fists smash the space helmet/head. I heard clarity and cringe-worthy detail (the scene is now more violent) that I have not seen since not listening to RC3! In summary, this speaker is a real performer and for the price I would say it's a 100% great buy for those who have a large room and listen loud (reference volume) and enjoy Blu-ray movies with multi-channel lossless Audio or Atmos Audio. The only "minus" is that this speaker is large, especially the depth of the speaker. I'll have to build a stand later to showcase this beauty!

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
