Review on THREAD SPREAD Pleated Egyptian Decorative by Sandra Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful. The real thing.

Fifteen years ago I spent an incredible amount of money on 800-TC Egyptian cotton sheets at Overstock. Now I know exactly what benefit I received. Back then, if the product said it was X-thread and Egyptian cotton, you could believe it. Unfortunately this set was complete and we now have a queen bed. And now I'm looking at 1500-TC - which is impossible for cotton - $30 for a 4-piece set - which is impossible for good sheets. I read article after article on how to spot fakes only to find that almost ALL of them were fakes. This particular brand and set was highly recommended... somewhere (to be honest I've read EVERYWHERE, I can't remember which article this was in). Taking advantage of Revane's long Christmas return, I bought a set of sheets and a duvet cover. Costs. Everyone. a penny Not that there were many. It's incredibly cheap. (Caution: Good high-TC sheets are warm. We'll use them in the spring and fall—after the summer heat but before the room heater needs to be turned on, and vice versa. I invest in underwear for summer and winter. ) But the feeling is amazing and the weight is perfect. The "hotel quality" sheets look like rayon to me -- and you have to ask if they're Four Seasons or Super 8. There is no risk with them. Would I be a little happier if I could find 800 TC records from 15 years ago? return? Yes. I would. But they're the closest they can get by far, and the price makes the Overstock look expensive. If you love real cotton and quality weaving, this is for you.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Weight
