Your phone could have worked much better but you didn't want it near water so you bought it like me. I have enough experience with the camera and managed to navigate the menu system and change as much as possible to make a camera that I can take with me in the kayak for photos. Approximately every 9th shot is sharp and turns itself off when trying to take a picture [there is no template for this]. The zoom range is as expected, but focus is very poor and the auto exposure tends to wash out detail when there's a light area and a dark area. I'll keep tweaking the settings, but I've settled with an unreliable device.
