The cartridge eject tool didn't make it easy to remove the cartridge, but it made it possible. Somehow the rubber seal on the cartridge got stuck in the cavity making it difficult to rotate the cartridge at all. It also made the animal remove. It took some time and effort to twist and pull back and forth, but it came out in the end. The puller was indispensable. My only concern, albeit minor, is that in over 20 years of owning a home I have never needed a puller. Now that I have it, I just hope I remember where I put it next time I need it maybe 20 years from now.
