They should be called "Plastic Folders". There is no bone in them and that is a distortion. When paper folding tools are made from other materials, they are called "obsidian folders" or "ivory folders" (currently illegal). The plastic they are made of is flexible and not rigid like cattle bones. The edges are square at the top and will rip through the paper if you try to push out a line for a tight crease. After 15 minutes of sanding and shaping the butt and edges, I was able to make one of them passable. As a teacher I need a classroom kit and I would never put so much effort into it, molding cheap pieces of plastic, which could have been done better to start with. I currently have 4 of these currently remade and boxed with my actual "bones" folders. I have to be more careful to read the description instead of assuming the "bones" folders are made out of bones. My fault, but actually calling them "bones" demands that it happen.
