First of all I really like these lights. It's great to find lamps ranging from color to white in this price range! The 300m of thread fitted our 6-7ft tree perfectly and I didn't feel like thinning it out at all. So now for the cons: - I would like some kind of adapter at the end of the connection because we have a glowing star that we can't hook onto the thread. We could do an extension on the back of the tree, but we'll probably just buy a new tip. Of the 9 light effect settings, we only use 3 settings: full white, solid color, or slow fade (#8 on the remote control). How can anyone deal with all the lights flashing at the same time like a strobe light? I wish it had more of a "flicker" effect with just a few flashing lights, or something more subtle at various times. Again, I can't really complain in this price range. They are good, I just wanted to share these negatives for the curious.
