Review on Columbia Women's Splash Little Jacket: Stylish and Functional Women's Clothing by Michael Olsen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Room for layers but no tailored look

I went oversize on this jacket because the undersized jacket has an awkward cutout in the armholes making it awkward and impossible to wear with a to combine with another jacket. This oversized jacket had enough room to wear a Columbia fleece jacket underneath and the armholes were relaxed. The combination of these two factors kept me warm in 10 degree weather in Europe when I was walking in the city or in the snowy hills. The material of the jacket is durable, yet light for its size. I managed to fit in the side pocket of my backpack. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a fitted shape. The regular model hits the waist and is slightly flared at the hips. This model is straight and that makes it a bit baggy. I'll take it to a tailor and see if she can add something so I can tighten my waist. It also has no inside pocket. For reference, I'm 5'7", broad shoulders, 33" waist, 43" hips. I also noticed that the zipper was a bit difficult to zip right out of the box. I guess it just had to be used , because after the first day of putting it on and taking it off it was no longer a problem. I almost forgot so don't send it in if the zipper seems difficult the first time you use it.
