Review on 🎧 ZERO AUDIO Carbo Tenore ZH-DX200-CT Ear Stereo Headphone by Candace Parker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent IEM for the price, but definitely not neutral in sound Signature

These IEMs have been claimed to be balanced, but they are not. The bass is way ahead of them, and some high frequencies are underrated. While they sound relatively clear, the mids are bass-heavy and many musical details are lost in the mid-range. The highs are very musical and crisp, but somewhat relaxed. Cymbals and vocal details (particularly on female vocals) can sound incredible at times. They're pretty good considering 80-90% of IEMs stink under $100. I wouldn't buy them again if they break, but I don't regret having them. On the other hand, if you love bass but aren't a bass player, you'll probably like them a lot. The mids are reasonably clear and the highs are relaxed without being out of place. The soundstage is quite wide and the instrument separation is very good (at least the ones that can be heard). The only thing that bothers me is that after a while I get a headache because of the amount of sub-bass and some of the instruments I'm using. too far in the soundstage for the ear (rhythm guitars, pads/synths) to be relevant. As a live music and studio recording engineer, it's too difficult to find something satisfying at a great price. Still, the Carbo Tenore beats most IEMs in the sub-$100 range thanks to a slightly bassy sound with lots of detailed but effortless highs. I wish they would have charged $10 more and given you better sound quality from the cables and accessories department, but unfortunately they don't. Still great value and worth it if you want to try.
