Plugged it in & Windows did the rest.

The add claims that this cable only sends one way but I plugged this into the display port on my tower and when I plugged it into my TV's HDMI port within like 3 seconds Windows had identified the brand and screen resolution of the TV, loaded the driver and set up the PC end of the connection. The TV even powered itself up and was displaying the wallpaper without me even pushing any buttons even though it had been sitting there for about two and a half weeks plugged into nothing more than the wall outlet. The sound even will transmit through this cable.
