Awesome USB 3.0 card reader

I decided to upgrade to the USB 3.0 version of this USB 2.0 card reader because I was frustrated with how long it took Copy my files. This new reader has a much improved copy speed compared to my old reader. The general build quality is satisfactory and corresponds to the old version 2.0. It comes with the same stand that attaches to the base of the reader with magnets. Many people dislike the stand because they often have to remove the reader from the stand to insert or remove a card. I personally don't care and don't use it at all. I've had this reader for about a month and haven't had any problems with it. It works great on all my compact flash cards, sd cards and micro sd cards. I've used old cards with less than 1GB, new cards with 64GB memory (I haven't tried a new 128GB card). Everything seems to work with the card reader, even when multiple cards are connected to it. The card reader connects to a Windows 7 computer with a USB 3.0 port. I haven't tried it with a USB 2.0 port, nor on my Windows 8 laptop (Windows 8 laptop doesn't have a USB 3.0 port). I only have two problems with this card reader. First, it's white, and I would prefer black. The second issue is that they moved the micro SD slot to the top of the reader. I want it to be left next to the other slots. Overall I think this is a reliable and fast reader. I highly recommend buying this if you're looking for a reader that can quickly transfer large amounts of data from different types of cards.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
