I have used several Fluval fx series filters with eheim pre-filters for many years. These filters have never been as good as the original, but they used to be a good compromise and value. However, the company now vacuums the sponge filters for shipping, which compresses the foam and makes it less effective. This greatly affects the porosity and structure of the foam. In the company's defense, they offered a small discount when I contacted them to let them know about the issue. It's just not the same, so order at your own risk.
