These pre filters saved me a lot of time when using my Fluval Fx4. I usually clean my filter monthly and quarterly, but with these pre-filters I just don't see much of a need for it. When I opened up my FX4 it looked perfectly clean after a month of use with them in the intake. Clean once a week and you're done.

Visually identical to the Eheim pre-filter sponges. Same height, width, hole size. It fits normally in the pre-filter, however they are noticeably softer. I don't know if it's a different material or just not as dense as the official one, but it creases very easily while those from the Eheim brand are pretty tough. Time will tell how well they hold up.
