Excellent bulbs with a moderate lifespan.

I have been using these bulbs in my cars for many years starting in 2008 with my Pontiac Grand Prix GT and currently with my Subaru XV. I'm always on the lookout for a brighter bulb because some new cars these years come with bright headlights from their manufacturer and my eyes are getting used to my dimmer headlights so it looks like they have high beam when I look at these cars bump . I've even tried using H9 bulbs for high beam (65w) and with a little modification I can fit them in an H11 socket but they are too bright and while they work great for me they annoy other drivers without End. So I had to go back to legal (55W) bulbs and tried many brands but given the price and legality the Sylvania zXe turned out to be the best bulb I could find. You can see an example in the attached video. Night driving on wet roads with these bulbs in my Subaru XV. Note that my Subaru has sensitive fog lights that light up when I turn the steering wheel. Longevity: I haven't read any negative Revain reviews of these lights, but I'm sure there will be people who will complain about their short lifespan. . These bulbs last 18-24 months in my low beam headlights and I've come to terms with them. I don't drive that much at night anymore (as you get older you tend to stay home) so I'd say I use my headlights about 4 to 5 hours a week and these bulbs don't last much longer than 4 to 5 hours per week. 500 hours of use (based on experience). What eventually happens is that one of them dies on me and I end up replacing both of them at that point. Now you might think that's not good, but the truth is that if the bulb can't go above 55 watts (to be legal) and you want a "high efficiency" brighter light, then the filament needs to burn at higher temperatures , and it shortens their lives. I guess the question is do you want a bulb that lasts a long time or do you want a bulb that makes night driving safer? 9005 CrystalVision Ultra) come very close to the zXe in terms of color and are significantly cheaper.
