What a great concept! There are 12 colors to choose from on the remote but it's a white light that comes on each time the switch underneath is turned on. The colors are assorted shades of blue, green, red, orange, pink, yellow & purple.Each candle is, physically, a light yellow color when turned off. The colors are very vivid except for the lighter color shades of course. You can point the remote at each candle separately and have any combination of colors but you must be a few feet away from the other candles or they will change also. You can also have each of them changing colors (multi color button) together or out of sync. This is a really nice feature!I give it 4 stars because of the weak "flicker" feature (which is what I like the most about real candles). The flicker is not pronounced enough and you have to look closely to see them flickering.The mode button only has 1 function: turn the flicker on & off. Sadly, the multi color feature and the flicker feature cancel out each other. If you want the colors to constantly change you press the multi color button. If you want the flicker to happen you push the mode button but you can't have both of them going on together.Also, when you turn off the switch underneath the candle, the memory is lost and they default to the white color. The only way around this is to leave the switch on to retain the memory but then the batteries (3 AAA's per candle) will wear down quicker. There is a 4 hour & 8 hour button so they'll turn off automatically after that time. Since I don't want to kill my batteries in one day, I always turn the switch off when I'm finished using them.I highly recommend these candles because of their functionality, lack of soot & danger from an open flame candle.
