Bought a relay along with a fuse tap and wire to convert the always on 12v power connector to a key control in a Ford Focus after having to start it several times more than we' like because you forgot to turn off all 12 volt devices (DVR and Echo Auto) that have power. I have worked with the relay outside of vehicles in the past and frequently checked that it was properly connected, but the instruction card provided was correct. No extra stripping or wiring needed, I was able to crimp what I needed pretty easily and tuck it behind a piece of plastic under the center console that would be easily accessible again if needed. 16 ga wire may not be enough for the full 30 amp output that the relay is rated for, but I don't plan on needing that much power. Also a high appreciation, I got 5 of these relays for the price of one from a local dealership.
