I really like this product. However, I think it could be 100% better with a little modification. The version with three candles is convenient because it has a surface on which you can put a cup and heat water. The single candle version puts out enough heat to heat a cup of water or a cup of soup in my opinion. This top is HOT, HOT, HOT. It also emits enough light to read in total darkness. However, if the device were just half an inch wider and the top was sized for a small metal cup or pan, it would be a lot better. The top of this device is a small, flat, round piece of metal that gets VERY hot. However, it is smaller than the already thin block. If it were just a little wider or had little fold-out arms, it would be the perfect way to keep a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate hot. I tested it with a metal measuring cup filled with water and starting with cold water it took 12 minutes for it to start boiling. Look at the picture below where the water is just starting to boil. So water can boil, but it takes time. Of course, this can be a great way to keep hot drinks very hot. However, I don't think the small diameter will hold even a metal teacup in a way that it can't be knocked over. Also, you can't blow it out right after blowing it out, it will stay very hot for a while.
