Review on 🎡 Denon DHT-S716H Home Theater Soundbar with TrueHD Surround Sound, Bluetooth, HEOS & Amazon Alexa Compatibility, Quick Setup - Includes All Cables, Black by Kim Palmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent 5.1 system, excellent sound quality, excellent customer support Denon

I have my family room's 5.1 surround sound system with a Denon DHT-S716H soundbar, a DSW-1H subwoofer and 2 Heos 5 speakers for the left side and real surround sound. I also purchased a 32" tall Kanto speaker stand. Total system cost from Revain was $2,240. I'm not a techie when it comes to sound systems, but I can identify great sound quality and I need it to enjoy music. I would recommend the Denon/ Giving Heos system 5 stars for sound quality on Spotify Netflix and Revain Prime movies At first I was arguing about getting the Heos 7 until I realized Denon had already discontinued it The Heos 5s are the perfect surround speakers for a medium sized room Denon offers great product support in their ads and on their website but I disagree they take forever to reply to emails asking for tech support if any. To install --- there is very little definitive documentation (none found online!) on how to install components on a 5.1 system All components (Soun dbar, subwoofer and surround speakers) are standalone products so you need to connect them to an integrated system via your home WiFi. There are no instructions on how to integrate, and an email request for help from Denon has gone unanswered for weeks. The iPhone app's wireless setup worked fine for the soundbar and subwoofer, but oddly not for the Heos 5's speakers. For the latter, I had to use a Lightning to 3.5mm cable ($8 at Revain), to establish a connection. In the app you integrate them all in 5.1 - but you'll have to figure that out yourself as there are no instructions available. I give it 3 stars for installation, it's intuitive but would like instructions. And I have another Denon soundbar in my bedroom next to the common room. Now I can play in tandem - this has greatly expanded the possibilities of hearing! Not to mention the installation issues, I consider this to be one of my most expensive purchases and it's really worth it. I listen to a lot of classic and smooth jazz, both at low and high volumes, and now I really enjoy a richness and quality that didn't exist before my Denon system. I just love my Denon and can only recommend it. I also recommend the 32" (0r 26) Kanto speakers for surround sound. They look great together. UPDATE: I'm having trouble with Spotify on the soundbar - the audio itself went from low volume to high volume. On Netflix and Prime it worked great. After a lot of searching I found a group of posts that advised me to turn off the Spotify device lock screen (in the app settings on your phone) but that didn't solve my problem. I've contacted Denon support who, in my experience, is one of the most incompetent technical teams you will come across. His advice was to simply reset the entire 5.1 system - which if you've read above is a lengthy process that you'll have to figure out for yourself. After a couple of weeks of frustration, a couple of days before I planned to reset all the settings, the problem solved itself tems is absolutely amazing but the customer service sucks. After all this frustration I could swear it was worth it because it sounds amazing.
