This rating refers to the 300W model. I love this reef/aquarium light (with some caveats). First the settings for the best coral growth: position the light 8 inches above the water (or about 24 inches from the sandy bottom), set the white channel to 7% and the blue channel to 42%. When you hang it from the ceiling, just take the metal hooks and screw them into the ceiling studs. The metal cable/fixture system that comes with the light is fairly intuitive and of high quality. The 300w light weighs 16 pounds so I wouldn't trust it to be installed with drywall anchors. The included remote control leaves a lot to be desired. It's low quality, has a short range (6-8ft max) so it's easier to just go upstairs and twist/push the buttons right on the flashlight itself. I originally used the built in scheduler to program the lights to go on at 9am and off at 9pm. However, if you're outside of those times, you can't just manually enable it for on-demand viewing. The built-in schedule will limit you, which is very annoying. So instead I turned off all the schedules in the world myself and connected to the Kasa Smart Plug, which is supposed to turn on at 9am and turn off at 9pm. This allowed me to have the schedule I wanted and turn it on and off for on-demand viewing (e.g. 10pm if I wanted) using the Smart Connector.
