Pro's socket. - good price and strength compared to open square tubes, they seem very strong and durable which is one of the reasons I bought this particular one. It doesn't look like loosening could be due to a worn hitch. This ball mount is very loose. You can easily move it in any direction even with the clutch pin attached. Looks like they rounded all the square edges and made them about 1/8 inch smaller on all sides. Makes it easy to hit the receiver, but it wobbles in all directions. In my opinion too many games. Once the trailer is hooked up there is a lot of up/down and side to side movement which is annoying at least in terms of rattling/popping and wears everything out as it's constantly moving around your vehicle. receiver coupling. Seems solid but looks like their specs/tolerances vary too much resulting in a very poor/loose fit. I've had several other manufacturers' ball mounts over the years and none of them dangled quite as much in the receiver.
