Below is my original review. After writing to the company regarding this, Kimo emailed me about what I had. They said I must have received a broken toaster and sent me a new one. So I'd say it's a pretty decent thing for them. So if you buy one and there is a problem, talk to the company. You are very helpful! . I bought it with the expectation that I could use it more than a few times. Almost all of the parts, including the lever you press, are plastic. made VERY thin. I used it about 6 times before it stopped working. The lever will not stay down and the internals will stop working even if you hold the lever down. I have not washed this toaster, submerged it in water, or done anything other than normal use.
